What is intuition?

Intuition is the bridge between the unconscious (the soul) and the conscious (the intellect). It can be felt throughout the body, but normally we cannot pinpoint where and how we feel intuition. It is also called the sixth sense or gut feeling.
Do you know when sometimes we have the feeling that some person or situation is not good for us, even though apparently there is nothing visibly wrong? Other times we feel an attraction to participate in an event, which we would normally never go to, and then we end up being positively surprised afterwards, meeting an interesting person at this event or finding a new job offer.
Living in a world that prioritizes intellect, our intuition is constantly neglected, and we often don't know how to differentiate what is intuition or what our imagination. However, there are consequences of living a non-intuitive life:
• Control: you become a more controlling person, without confidence in life. You plan every detail and want others to follow your plans too.
• Fear: as you lack confidence in life, the mind takes control, which is expressed by the fear that something will go wrong with your plans. This fear ends up leading the person to stress and anxiety.
• Indecision: Control and fear often paralyze you, so that you are unable to take a decision, as you insist on following the controlling plan of your mind.
Following a more intuitive way of living, we live a truer, more enjoyable and relaxed life. Problems are temporary and there is faith and trust in life. Life becomes enlightened because you are connected to the essence of your own being.
How to develop your intuition?
Everyone is born with developed intuition, what happens is that we lose the ability to feel it, as we are much more focused on logical reasoning. To be more aware of your intuitive capacities, you need practice listening to yourself, silence your mind and develop a connection with your body.
Practice self-listening: I always say: be your greatest follower and your own influencer. What is right for others will not always be right for you. Listen to your being. What do you really need? What do you really like? What do you really want?
Practice silence of the mind: When the mind is noisy and is constantly bombarded with information and thoughts, it becomes difficult to discern what is yours and what belongs to others. Give space for silence, calm and tranquility.
Connect your body: The body is your vehicle that will carry you throughout your life. It is the expression what happens in your conscious and unconscious. The body communicates everything. The more connected you are to your body, the more attentive you are to listening to the voice of your intuition.
And of course, you can also practice Intuitive Bellydance to help you develop more self-awareness and connection with your own body, learning to listen to yourself and silence your mind through movement.
