Intuitive Bellydance: How it all started

Updated: Jul 8, 2024

Hello loved one! Welcome to this reading!

In 2019, I was 40 years old and had a lot of responsibilities at work (software developer).  At night I worked as a belly dance teacher and practiced my choreographies for festivals and competitions.  In my free time, I took care of my 4-year-old daughter and cleaned up the mess in the house.  I felt always tired because I was constantly meeting goals, deadlines and trying to please people.

My 20 years old relationship was coming to an end and this instability was draining the rest of my vital energy. To top it off, I was in perimenopause and hormonal unbalances activated my anxiety and irritation. Of course, at the time I didn't know I was in perimenopause and that's why I have plans to create a space dedicated to menopause on this blog, since this is a another chapter.

At that time I no longer wanted to come home from work and still have to practice for hours or prepare choreography. I just wanted to put on some music, connect with my body and dance freely, without needing to dress to impress or having to teach anyone.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, I stopped teaching dance and dove deep into soul searching. Since then, I have prioritized my needs, forgiven myself for past mistakes and opened myself up to self-love and creativity.

I've always had the need to do yoga and meditation, because due to my lifestyle I had to find a way to relax and recharge myself energetically.

The search for balance and vitality led me to qi-gong, tai-chi, breathwork, ice baths, ayahuasca and everything else that appears on the internet.

In this search process I understood that the body is the only vehicle that will carry us through the journey of life, and a deep connection with it is the key to developing true self-love and self-knowledge.

This contact with the body can come with many disciplines, such as martial arts, tantra, yoga, qi-gong, but intuitive belly dancing is the most fun and, if applied correctly, can provide lasting benefits on the physical, emotional and mental body.

On this site I offer free guided meditations, guided dance practices and videos so you can practice belly dancing in the comfort of your own home.
